Research Interests

Research goals of our group are to investigate behavior of complex engineering and physical systems by developing and applying advanced high-performance computational tools combining di fferent physical models through multicode/multiphysics coupling and integrative simulations on massively parallel computers.

   Research Topics

  • Scientific Computing: Spectral Element Methods, Overlapping Grids, Integrative Simulations
  • Fluid Mechanics: Turbulence, Mixing, Vorticity Dynamics
  • Wind Energy: Actuator Line Aerodynamics, Atmospheric Boundary Layers
  • Thermal Sciences: Heat Transfer, Cooling, Gas Turbine Engines

   Currently Funded Research Projects

  • Development of Overlapping and Moving Grid Capabilities with High-Order Methods (NSF CMMI)
  • Wind Turbine Wake Simulations and Coupling with Doppler Lidar Measurements (NSF CBET)
